A Voluntary Organization of Professionals Concerned with Water

The Indian Water Works Association (IWWA) is a voluntary body of professionals concerned and connected with water supply for municipal, industrial, agricultural uses and treatment and disposal of wastewater. IWWA focuses basically on the entire "Water Cycle" encompassing the environmental, social, institutional and financing issues.

IWWA – Kolkata Centre, started in 1994 – and had its 1st meeting on 03.03.1994. Prof. K. J. Nath – was the 1st Chairman of IWWA Kolkata Centre followed by Prof. A. K. Adhya, Sri S. K. Chakraborty (2005-06), Prof. Dr. Arunabha Mazumder (2006-07, 2007-08), Sri Prabir Kr. Dutta (2008-2012).


Sri Santanu Lahiri was our 1st Hony. Secretary of Kolkata Centre followed by Sri S. K. Chakraborty, Sri A. K. Sarkar (2005-06), Prof. D. Kahali (2006-07), Sri U. V. Desai (2007-08), Sri Bappa Sarkar (2008-12).
